SkyView® App Reviews

SO inaccurate.

I can be looking straight at the moon, turn this puppy on, and it says the moon is behind me. Last night I was trying to observe Uranus but every time I checked with this app it was in drastically different locations. I would even "chase" it with my phone and watch it physically move itself around. Im very disappointed I paid for this. SkyMap is 1,000x better. Unfortunate, because the features in SkyView are neat. But features account for nothing when you accuracy is AWFUL.

Love it

Have always loved looking at the stars but could never get the position correct with the season and just guessed. This takes the guess work out. You will love it

SkyView

Unable to enter Leadville, Co. went to look thru SkyView and it kept jumping around didnt have any thing in the right location. Showed Ursa Major (Big Dipper) way East of its true location. Saw the ISS by chance @8:01 tonight, didnt show up where SkyView said it was gonna be. Waste of $1.99 for the upgrade.

Very useful and inexpensive

What would make it even better would be if it displayed rise and set times for all objects, or at least the planets. As it operates now, you need to try to position the objects trail on the horizon which is sometimes nearly impossible.

DO NOT BUY YET...

The app has a debilitating glitch that renders the entire thing useless. The calibration is wrong. The auto calibration does. It like it up correctly and the manuel calibration enables a glitch that makes the sky rotate way too fast when moving so that you with see the same objects 3-4 times is a 360 degree spin. I emailed them about this and they "deemed the problem solved" when the responded saying to make sure there is no magnetic interference. There was no interference in the field I was using. Ill let you know if they fix the issue. Dont buy yet. Its been broken for over a month now.

Best out there

More info than you can shake a stick at!

Attractive

Updated white opaque widget is more appealing

Directionally Challanged

I have an iPhone 6s. Most times when I open the app, it is off anywhere from 45 to 180 degrees. Please fix

One of my favorite Apps

I have tried other Astronomy Apps but this one is the best! This really helped a me locate astronomical objects so that I can then view them on my telescope. Definite "Must Have" app whether you just love looking up at the night sky or are a serious astronomy buff!

Great for Amateur Stargazers Like Me

Its easy to use interface lets you enjoy looking up at the stars instead of looking down at your phone trying to understand the app. Love the night mode feature.

The best thing to happen to a phone

This is so amazing its a must have its the best app I have installed

Meh!

Not bad. Sometimes hard to match your sky to the app.

Sometimes Great

I really want to like this app, but it seems more buggy since the last software update. Its as if its confused and keeps trying to find it location. Its very frustrating especially when it seems to be correctly aligned and suddenly spins 180 degrees. Hopefully the next update will put things in order.

Love the Idea

I even bought the upgrade, but it is not 100% precise. Tonight I pointed the thing directly at the moon and it called it Venus. It had the moon way off in another direction. Maybe theres a calibration setting I just havent found.

Best stargazing app ever!

Use it all the time on camping trips. Great information and fascinating for all ages.

SkyView

Ive had this application for well over a year now, I find it very interesting to use and have shown it to my four-year-old granddaughter who is infatuated by it. I have even shown it to my former spouse since he does have a telescope, dont know if hes actually used it yet to find the constellations, planets and trajectory objects that show up in there also. I am simply amazed at how full our sky is of what we have put up there and left over. You should all take a look this is an amazing app!

Love the App

It is really great but it is challenging to calibrate to hit the right star or planet. My iPhone 6 Plus does not hit the star directly. I feel like a chameleon going wall-eyed trying to get a fix on any given star!

Very good app

I loved it! Thinking of getting telescope now. Has really peaked my interest now and b able to tell some stories because know one will ever believe me

Good helpful app.

I am impressed with the detail in this application. Most amazing is the amount of junk rocket bodies up there. I have found what I was looking for, and the projected path over time is really helpful.

Love this ap

Lots of fun I use this app everyday on my iPad iPhone
